Holds a BA from Williams College and an MA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In 1994, was awarded the Regent's Medal for Excellence in Teaching.
Has served in a semi-administrative and administrative capacity as Division Chair and Interim Dean of Academic Affairs. Has also served as Accreditation Co-Chair at HonCC.
Cynthia has served as a Faculty Advistor for the Student Senate and the PTK Student Club. As a history teacher, she is especially interested in World War I history and the history of the Balkans and Russia. She has a passion for politics and environment issues. She spends her family time raising her 14 year old son. Cynthia is a avid Seattle Mariners baseball fan.
