Activities and Accomplishments in promoting learning and/or professional development
|
After transferring, I received my BA in Economics in 1987 from UH-Hilo. I received
my MA in Economics from UH-Manoa in 1989.
I served a Honors Education Coordinator and Phi Theta Kappa advisor for 3 years which was a great experience. Following that I became Faculty Senate Chair for two years which once again was a great experience as I was able to interact with Faculty Senate Chairs from across the system. I am now Department Chair of Social Sciences which I find very rewarding.
I like to be in the fresh air so I jog at least three times a week and run in some events such as the Aloha run, Ford Island run etc. I did the Honolulu Marathon in 2000 nd am now training up to do it again this year. I also go to the gym for some weight training. Education has always been my minor focus so now I am taking classes at UH-Manoa in Educational Administration which I may or may not use towards a Ph.D.
I like meeting and interacting with people in many arenas and am available to chat about whatever is on your mind. I may not have the solutions but together we might be able to shed some light on the subject.
